• Feel Good Friday

This is going to be a very self-indulgent post today.  Recently I decided that I will start spoiling myself to decent products instead of buying multiple cheaper brands that don't always live up to my expectations.  Believe me, I have quite a lot of things I buy that I simply don't feature on my blog because it was a complete waste of money.  This month I was fortunate to receive some of my money back from Mr Taxman, so I decided to spoil myself to a few items.  Today's image is filled with items I spoiled myself to and 2 products I was lucky to receive (1 as a prize and 1 as a gift).
Top Left: Bobbi Brown Concealer Duo and Colour corrector; Lancome Eyeshadow palette and lipstick (thank you so much Mr Taxman for giving me some of money back!)
Top Right: Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow Palette (I won this last year); Chanel Blush (gift) and Mascara, Dior Lip Glow and BB Creme (Last 3 items also courtesy of Mr Taxman)
Bottom Left: OPI Avoplex efoliationg cuticle treatment (I bought this a few weeks ago)
Bottom Right: Smashbox eyeshadow palette (I bought this from the Rubybox sale.)

I really went overboard but this is not something I do regularly, in fact this was the very first time I have ever been so extravagant. I am giving myself a free pass on this (although my heart still speeds up when I do the calculations and I feel a little faint).  I just hope this doesn't become a nasty and expensive habit!

Reviews of all these items will be up on my blog in the coming weeks.

Have a beautiful Friday everyone and again, thank you to all who have commented on my posts this week.  I really love hearing from you and I do try my best to respond to each comment submitted.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX

    1. I really need to start doing this more. I recently went overseas for the first time and walked into Debenhams and saw the Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. It happened. I had to have it. I haven't regretted it. And I realised a few weeks later that buying quality (albeit expensive) products are so worth it.

      1. It definitely is worth it, just have to save up and make sure what I do get are things I need or REALLY want.

    4. I tend to indulge too often and sadly it did become somewhat of a habit... but I'm trying to get back to conservative spending again. Hehe! Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading the OPI review!

    5. Such a great collection of products! I laughed when you said you hope it doesn't become a nasty expensive habit, because I think I am starting to develop the exact same expensive habit!! I agree though, I would rather have one beautiful Chanel blush than go a bit wild at a Clicks sale. Some cheap products are gems, but a lot of them don't really meet expectations. The only thing I regret is the two Stila lip and cheek stains which cost R450 and I know will hardly ever use. You have some really useful and necessary things in your haul :)

      1. When spending quite a bit on a product I think it is definitely necessary to try it out in the store. I use to HATE it and feel so uncomfortable, but it isn't too bad. But I need to start spending a little less now :P I will use the excuse that I am a beauty blogger...it is for my "other job" Ha ha

    6. I agree it is better to spend more on quality than buying cheaper not so good products. The Lancome palette looks very pretty. Enjoy your products Charlene, there's nothing wrong with spoiling yourself :)

    7. A well deserved spoil if you ask me!!!

I agree with the quality products. Sometimes, having fewer better products is better than many sub par in quality . That being said not all 'cheap' products are a loss so I think you are still semi safe as far as habit forming is concerned ;)
Love your choices. It is all so gorgeous! You also showed tremendous restraint. Good job!

    10. I love all things Bobbi Brown and OPI! What a great collection. Doesn't getting money back from Mr Taxman make you feel like you've won the lotto?
