• Exfoliators | Budget

I am going to do a bit of a series of my favourite exfoliators at different price points. The idea will be to keep the posts short and sweet. What I like about it and what could be a bit better. To kick off the series I am starting with the budget friendly Johnson's Daily Essentials Gentle exfoliating wash for all skin types.
    Gentle Exfoliating Wash
Type of Exfoliator: Mechanical, meaning you polish your skin with an abrasive to loosen up the dead skin cells.

    Gentle Exfoliating Wash
    What I like:
    1. Has hundreds of micro-beads that helps you get a good polish.
    2. When used as a daily face wash your skin is always exfoliated and prepped for your serum and moisturier.
    3. Smells nice.
    4. Very affordable (R50.50) and widely available (supermarkets and pharmacies)
    What to keep in mind:
    1. Exfoliating every day means you have to be very gentle with washing your face. The abrasives can damage your skin if you aren't careful.
    2. You have to follow this up with a serum / facial oil every day to ensure your skin is looked after and does not dry out.
    3. Use a makeup remover before this to ensure you get a good cleansing.
    Tips:
With all exfoliators, after you've exfoliated your skin it is very important to follow up with a face mask or at least a very good quality serum / face oil and moisturiser. I never exfoliate in the mornings because my skin can be a little bit red for a while and I don't want to layer makeup over my skin. If you do exfoliate in the mornings, definitely wear a very good sunblock.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX
