• L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation and Infallible Max Matte Lip Pens

L'Oreal has sent me some really great products and I thought I would cover two of them today - the ever popular Infalliable Mattifying Foundation and new Infallible Max Matte Lip Pens.  Both of these products are under R200 each which is great for those who are looking for products that are affordable and effective.

First off, the foundation is something I have been using for the past few months now but just haven't gotten around to writing a post on it - even though it has become my go to everyday foundation.  When it comes to coverage, this is a medium to full coverage foundation however a light coverage is easy to achieve with a damp makeup sponge or simply working a small amount of the product into the skin.  I prefer lighter coverage so you will see my freckles across my nose and cheeks coming through.  I like a matte finish to my foundation so this product immediately scores points with me, however everyone who has dry skin will know that matte means a drying affect. To avoid this, on days where my skin is particularly dry, I add 2 drops of  my normal facial oil to the foundation and then apply it.  Another suggestion I have is to use a good serum and moisturiser before you apply the foundation, this will help offset any drying effect.  The foundation lasts very well throughout the day and definitely gives my skin a photo-ready look when I apply the foundation a bit heavier.  Definitely worth its price and I say I even prefer it to my Chanel matte foundation. (RSP is around the R189 mark and there is a wide range of shades to choose from).

The lip pens were very strange to me at first. I had no idea what they were when I received them and when I opened the first pen to see the sponge spplicator, I was a bit confused.  When you apply the product it goes on quite light and dry. As you apply more layers you can build the colour up to an intensity you feel comfortable with.  I really like how these look and feel on my lips - once applied it doesn't feel as if you are wearing a lip product.  Because these are matte lip products, your lips need to be well moisturised otherwise your lips will feel and look dry.  I add a light weight eye cream ontop of the lip product to add some moisture to my lips without giving up the matte effect.  These last really well, after breakfast and coffees I still have a good amount of colour on my lips and this lasts until around lunch time.  I received shades Virgin 002 (Dusty pink) and Disturbia 006 (Orangey Red).  For fun I applied Disturbia and topped it with Virgin to give it a bit of a pink tone. I definitely liked the combination.  The range is available from L'Oreal stand now at around R160.
I really enjoy using these products and they are absolutely perfect for everyday use - Affordable and great quality!

    1. Hi Charlene, you look absolutely beautiful in these pics. Tell me, is it the foundation or is it the blush you're using? If so, please tell me what it is?!

      1. Hi Emma,

I am wearing blush in the pick but it is also the foundation. The blush is smashbox's Love Me.

        Hope this helps!
