• Summer Skin Protectors | Part 1

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you all had a good long weekend celebrating with your loved ones.  Pretty much the whole of South Africa has been very hot over the festive season and I thought I would share some sun protection products I have been using.  These products are specifically facial products because I find that those are the ones I generally struggle with.  My skin is quite sensitive so I have to be careful with what I use but I always want to make sure that I have a good sun cream on.  It has been tricky finding products that work well against the sun's rays and also give good skin care benefits.  So I hope these posts will be useful. To avoid incredibly long posts I will be sharing 3 products over the course of the week.

Part 1 - Vichy Capital Soleil BB Cream (Natural Tan Shade)
Vichy Capital Soleil 50+ BB Cream
I consider BB cream to be a makeup product but this one from Vichy is definitely more than that.  I am a big fan of Vichy products so when I received this from Vichy I was very keen to give it a try.  This BB cream is in shade Natural Tan which can be blended to suit light to olive skin tones.  I have rather pale skin and I find that this BB cream gives me a nice glowing, tanned look that is natural and very flattering.  Because I have pale skin I use quite a little and blend it across my face over my daily moisturiser.  The coverage and be gradually built up for those with darker skin tones or some blemishes they want covered.  If you need a bit more coverage than what a BB cream offers, this works well as a primer before foundations. What is great is that it gives your skin some bronzing colour which helps make your foundation look better.  The BB cream is creamy in consistency which makes it easy to blend into the skin with fingers or a makeup brush.  What I like is that it applies dewy and then settles on a nice velvety finish.

I use this BB Cream whether I am outside in the sun or off to the office for the day. Because it is a BB Cream with an SPF of 50 it is something you can easily apply throughout the day and still have a made up look.  If I am wearing a foundation there is no way I can afford to pop into a bathroom at work to remove all of it so that I can apply a sun screen (Yes, you should be wearing an SPF even when you are indoors because things such as lights and PC monitors give off UV rays which harms our skin and if you sit close to a window you can get sun damage.)

If you use a fair amount of this BB Cream you don't necessarily need a moisturiser underneath as it does a good job of moisturising your skin. I however use a very thin layer of the product and therefore still need to apply a light moisturiser beforehand.  This BB Cream is light on the skin and non-greasy which makes it perfect for everyday use.

Vichy products are widely available from pharmacies and Clicks stores.  The retail price is around R285 but varies depending on which store you get it from.  To me this price is very reasonable considering you are getting two products - a sunblock and BB Cream in one product. On top of that you are getting the skin care benefits Vichy is known for. This product is one I reach for every day and will continue to do so.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX

    1. I saw this on your Instagram and was hoping you would do a review. It sounds amazing. I would love you try it.

I once told someone about the inside light giving off UV and they said I was crazy.
