• Essence Pure Nude Makeup

When it comes to makeup such as foundation and BB cream I like ones that aren't noticeable on the skin. I like a bit of coverage but I don't want it to necessarily look like I am wearing foundation.  Essence sent me a lot of products to test out (I shared some products with two readers - who should be getting their parcels this week) and the ones that jumped out at me the most was the Pure Nude foundation and concealer.
The foundation is very watery in consistency which makes it easy to blend into the skin.  The coverage is very light which I like because I do like to let my light freckles and even some of the blemishes show through. It looks more natural and honestly doesn't even look as if you are wearing anything on your skin....so the look is basically slightly better than your natural skin.  If you want a bit more coverage it can be built up by adding a few more thin layers of foundation or you can use the Pure Nude concealer to touch up some spots / areas but I do think this works best as a brightening product.

What I really like about the concealer is its almost lip balm like consistency. The product melts into the skin and gives you a nice dewy look that isn't oily / greasy looking. This means that the areas you apply it are brightened and less dull looking.  When I don't get enough sleep or water my skin goes dull, especially under my eyes, I apply the concealer in a triangle shape from under my eyes to brighten up the area and I immediately look more refreshed.

Both the foundation and concealer are light on your skin which is perfect for the heat we are experiencing this year. I just can't bring myself to wear a lot of makeup when it is hot so I have really enjoyed using these two products.

Essence is such an affordable brand that has some really great quality products.  The foundation and concealer can be bought for just over R100, there isn't another brand like this that can offer you that kind of quality at such an afforable price.

Essence Pure Nude make-up is available from Dischem, Clicks and various pharmacies across the country.

    1. Can't wait to add these to my shopping basket the next time I pop passed the shops. Everything you described and experienced is everything I've been looking for!! I have a lot of freckles and if I use anything too heavy it looks like I am trying to cover them up and badly too even though that wasn't my aim.

      Thanks for your awesome reviews!

    2. Can you believe that I still can't find stock of either of these products in my shade? Have checked what feels like a million Clicks and Dischem stores ;-( Hopefully they restock soon.
