I actually really enjoyed picking the grapes but I can't really imagine doing it for an entire day - far too tiring and one has to constantly make sure your fingers aren't in the way of the sheers. After about 45 minutes in the vineyard we headed back to the cellar where we changed into our swimwear - this is the part most of us were looking forward to - an opportunity to swim in a tank full of grapes! It was such a weird feeling (that I simply cannot describe) but after a while it really was nice being in amongst all the grapes. One thing most of the ladies noticed was how great the grapes acted as an exfoliant. We left the tanks with silky smooth (and sticky) skin. Once we cleaned ourselves up we all headed to the table on the veranda to have a young wine tasting session.
Beau Joubert has a host of really great wines but the main star of the day was their new (yet to named) bubbly. I really loved the crisp flavour of it and I am certain it is going to be well received once it hits stores. The other wines on offer were all also very drinkable and I personally really loved their Ambassador wine (a red blend) and their Oaklane Chenin / Sav Blanc wine. The day ended with a delicious buffet lunch, which we eagerly gobbled up while chatting about blogging, wine and how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country.
Thank you to Beau Joubert for a wonderful day! It truly was such a memorable day.
Beau Joubert wines are available in Food Lovers Markets. Visit their website for more details of the wine and vineyard (click here).
