Hi guys! I’m Irina and I am so excited to be guest posting on Charlene’s blog today! Gee Whiskers was one of the first blogs I started reading and I love it, so it is a huge honour for me to be doing an outfit post on it today. I am not going to hide this- I am a fan of Valentine’s Day. Not that I ever needed an excuse to eat chocolate, but there is something about the joy and love in the air that day that makes me smile. I’ve loved it since I was in school and my feeling about the day have not changed when I grew up, in fact they are even stronger! What can I say, I am a hopeless romantic.
Last Valentine’s Day Steve(le BF) and I made plans a week before the day - we were going to go for dinner at our favourite Chinese restaurant and watch a romantic movie afterwards. We always get each other little gifts for the day and I got his that Monday(Valentines was on a Thursday) and called him that afternoon to tell him how excited I was for Valentines. But as it often happens, life had other plans. That night Steve was in a big car accident. He was incredibly lucky and only came out of it with a lot of bumps and bruises and a concusion. That meant that we scraped all of our previous plans as Steve was on bed rest and I was just happy that he was alright. On the morning of Valentine’s Day I left early to get to my lectures at varsity. Steve snuck out of the house to the shop by us, and got me this beautiful wooden sign as a gift. I was so surprised and delighted to see it when I got home because even when he wasn’t feeling well , he still did something so nice for me. I know this all sounds super cheesy, and Steve would kill me for telling this(he is not normally this romantic) but that’s why I wanted to incorporate the sign into my outfit look for this Valentine’s Day. It means a lot to me and I keep it by my bedside next to our photo.
I thought this Legit dress would work perfectly for a Valentine’s day look- it is so soft and feminine, and the heart cut out on the dress is the perfect addition. Of course I wanted to keep the soft look going with light curls, purple eye and pink lip-gloss. The shoes are a perfect peach match for the dress, and I do plan on wearing this outfit on Friday. Steve and I are not doing anything big this year, but I can’t ever miss an opportunity to dress up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day on Friday and no matter how you feel about Valentines, remember to never let your loved ones go.
I love the heart detail in the back of the dress and this is such a wearable look.
Thank you to all the bloggers who have contributed to my Valentine's Series this week. I am so grateful and appreciative of all the effort you have put into each post.
Big Hugs,
Charlene XXX
