My sister recently decided that she wants to start painting her nails more and we went on a hunt for affordable nail polishes to start off her collection. We were lucky that when we headed to Dischem we found a whole row of shelves filled with nail polishes and makeup on sale. We had a nail polish painting evening and I chose to try out the beautiful pink colour by Catrice for myself.
I started my manicure off with Essence Studio Nails 24/7 base coat. I saw this on Michelle's (from Ordinary Misfit) Instagram feed and read how impressed she was with it, so I was eager to try it out for myself - I am also seriously impressed with this base coat! Not only is it a strengthening base coat but also a ridge filler. Ridge filler base coats are usually very expensive, I paid over R100 for my Essie Ridge Filler. This Essence one is only R29 and it performs brilliantly! The Catrice nail polish is in the shade, 'Karl Says Tres Chic". The nail polish requires 2 coats to get an even finish and the brush makes it very easy to apply the coats in even layers. In the photo of this post, the nail polish has been on for 3 days already and as you can see there is very little evidence of it not being freshly painted. I got this nail polish for only R24 on sale. Definitely worth every cent!
I love Catrice nail polishes...such good quality for low price. New subbie...
ReplyDeleteVery good quality especially for such a low price.
DeleteOooh, that is a really pretty colour!
ReplyDeleteI've also recently started using the Essence base coat. Very happy with it. That colour is very pretty! xx
ReplyDeleteLove that you like that Essence base coat. I must say for the price I am VERY impressed with it. It performs so well.
ReplyDeleteI love that pink shade!! I scooped up about 12 Catrice polishes recently (Some for me and some for a friends birthday) but I am also thoroughly enjoying them!
I rarely buy essence and Catrice because I become loyal to certain products. Always tend to,save up for Essie colours because they work so well for me. But it was fun trying out new brands.
