• Cala | Cleansing and Exfoliating set

My skin care routine continues to be my favourite way to treat myself. It's become quite therapeutic for me to do a full at home facial. While I was in Amsterdam last year, I picked up a small silicon massaging brush. I really enjoy using it and wanted to share it on my blog - but I couldn't find it locally - those of you who follow me know that I don't like sharing products on my blog that my readers cannot get. Anyway, while in Dischem the other day I spotted such a cute exfolaiting and massaging set that I thought I would try out (plus the fact that it is my favourite colour made me grab it).
The set consists of a massaging cleansing brush and an exfoliating sponge and retails for around R99. I own a few Cala makeup brushes which I really enjoy using so I didn't really give this too much consideration in the store - I knew the quality would be good.
The cleansing brush is made up of very soft silicon bristles that massage your skin while deep cleansing it.  I use this in two ways. Firstly by gently massage my face while I am washing it. I find that it stimulates the skin and I get a far better cleansing. This is especially important after I've worn makeup or been working out. The second way I use this is when removing a moisturising mask., I wet the brush and massage the mask into my skin a bit before washing it off.  I also really like the fact that it has a suction cup so I can let it dry easily.
The exfoliating sponge I have a bit of mixed feelings about. I really like that it is abrasive without being too harsh. The key thing is to really be aware of the pressure you apply while massaging your skin with it. The edge of the sponge can be quite hard on the skin, so a handy tip I have is to gently turn the sponge inside out so that the seam is on the inside. Other than that, it does a good job of getting rid of dead skin cells and really polishes the skin nicely.

The set is really great value for money and I don't regret buying it. If you want to get your own set, you can find it at Dischem pharmacies.

    Big Hugs,
