• Dermalogica Ultra Calming Duo

I have long been a fan of Dermalogica (click here to see some of my previous posts). I was sent their new Ultra Calming duo to test out and have been using it consistently for a few weeks now.

Skin care reviews take a while to get out because I have to use the product for at least 4 - 6 weeks to form an opinion on them. This is because I have to give my skin the necessary time to turnover new cells so that I can see how a product works.
The Barrier Defense Booster  is a concentrated oil that relieves dryness and reinforces the integrity of your skin's natural barrier. I battle with dry skin which is very sensitive at times. I need products like this to help sooth skin flareups and I have noticed that since using these products, my skin is definitely far less sensitive. The oil is enriched with Squalane which locks in moisture and Oat Oil which combats sensitivity. You use about 6 drops per treatment. Apply this after you have cleansed your face and wile your skin is still warm. RSP R1235 for 30ml.

The Calm Water Gel is one of my favourite products to use. It is so light and at first glance I thought there was no way this could be hydrating - but man I was wrong. This gel is very hydrating and refreshing to use. The gel hydrates dry skin and helps to sooth skin sensitivity. The Hyaluronic Acid, Apple Fruit Extract and Glycerin which all hydrate, lock in moisture and soften skin. the Cactus Pear Extract is what helps to soothe skin sensitivity.  A little bit of this gel goes a long way, so be careful when pressing on the tube. You need a pee size amount to cover your face and neck. RSP R899 for 50ml.

The thing that I really like about these products is that they both help to treat two things I struggle with - dryness and sensitivity. My skin feels less tight and the surface looks smoother because I have far less dehydration lines.

With winter fast approaching I am so glad I have these products to keep my skin happy.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX

PS. I completely understand that the cost of Dermalogica products are steep, I've mentioned this in previous reviews I have written. I honestly do feel that their products are worth the price. I've spent a lot of my own money on products and make use of Sorbet specials to stock up on products I love. When I factor in the costs of facials at spas and how regularly you should be doing facials, it works out far cheaper to invest in great quality products and treat yourself to facials at home.
