Highlighter is all the rage (it has been for a while) and the trend doesn't seem to be losing any momentum. The problem though is that when something is trending the price of it sky rockets. Rabia, the owner and founder of SwitchBeauty, spotted this problem in the market place and created her brand to satisfy the need to affordable and good quality makeup products. I've spotted the brand quite a bit in posts by other beauty bloggers and became really curious about the brand, so when SwiitchBeauty contacted me a while ago to send me some products I was eager to see what all the fuss was about.
In the parcel was the #GlowgasmPalette. Those of you who read my blog often know that I am not a bit user of highlighter but boy oh boy, this palette is something else! At R450 this product is a bargain. It contains 5 powder highlighters and 1 cream highlighter in varying shades to suit most skin tones. The palette contains rose gold, gold, bronze and champagne tones that can also be mixed to create your own unique shades to suit any makeup look.
What I like about the palette's design is that the pans are big so you can easily fit a highlighting brush or big face brush onto a pan to pick up an appropriate amount of product. The Swiitch Beauty G31 Contouring brush (R199) works perfectly with this palette. It picks up the powder very easily (you can see that in the photo I took above) and transfers it well onto my skin. The bristles are super soft which blends the powers effortlessly into my skin. It really is a fantastic brush that is so easy to work with.

These powders are so easy to use and depending on how noticeable you like your highlight to be, you can work from a light highlight to full on "you'll need sunglasses when you look at me" highlight. Personally, I like that you are in full control of how the look turns out and you don't have to worry about overdoing it. The gold cream highlight is really beautiful and easily blends into your skin. It also works really nicely as a wash over your eyelids.

The packaging and branding of the product is fun and clearing works well with our "Instagramming" culture. Products are all hashtagged and that makes you want to share it on social media - very clever marketing. What is also good is the price of the products. It is clear that there is a focus on affordability while still delivering a product that not only looks good, but works.

As someone who rarely even bothers with highlight, I've actually really enjoyed this palette - it's fun to use and I really like the packaging.

I have linked the products in this blog post so that you can easily find them on the SwiitchBeauty website and Instagram page (@swiitchbeauty).

    Big Hugs,
