First up - Elegant Touch Nail Apothecary 05 Nail Quencher (R119.95). I spotted these while browsing the aisles of Dischem. You know how it goes when visiting any Dischem or Clicks for that matter. You go in with the intention of getting one thing and you walk out with a bag full of products. Anyway, when I spotted these bottles on a shelf I was first drawn by the look of them. Once I started reading the boxes I was very intrigued by them. There are a number of variants each one is formulated to assist with treating a nail concern. I went for the Quencher because I battle with dry nails that break easily. The product restores the moisture in your nails to help prevent breakage, peeling and splitting. You apply 1 to 2 layers each day and then remove the product after 7 days. I like that this has a light pink tint to it, that makes my nails look healthy. It also gives my nails a nice shiny appearance. I've been using it for just over 2 weeks and really have enjoyed using it. Definitely think it is a winner.
So I am late on the bandwagon...Maybelline's Baby Skin is a cult status product. But I just haven't tried it yet and thought it was about time. I do not wear primer everyday, only for special occasions when I know I need my makeup to last. At work and over weekends I am just not bothered. When I spotted this it was curiosity that made me get it. I've read and heard such good things about it and I wanted to see for myself it is really is so good (especially considering it is a drug store product). The product is very lightweight and easy to work with. It smooths out the appearance of your skin and definitely does a good job of hiding pores. It creates a really good surface for makeup to be applied and I definitely have noticed that my makeup looks good for much longer than without a primer. More importantly, I have not noticed any bad reaction in my skin. I always worry when using products that fill pores to create a smooth surface, I worry that I'll breakout or get blackheads. But so far so good. Also, the price of this product makes is a serious winner! If you are looking for an effective and affordable primer, this one should be first on your list. This was R94.95 at Dischem when I bought it.
