• My at home facial routine | Part 4

Wow! So I've reached my last post in this series. I think you can see now why I split things out over multiple posts. The final step in any facial is to seal your skin to allow the ingredients from all the products to do their work.
In this final step I apply an eye cream and face moisturiser. I have never been good at remembering to use an eye cream every day but when I do a facial, I make sure to use one. For this reason, I use really good quality eye creams so that when I do use it, I can see the benefits.
    Dermalogica age reversal eye complex
Dermalogica's Age Smart Multivitamin Power Firm has been a favourite of mine for a long time now. It is formulated to help accelerate the skin's natural repair process and protect the eye area from free radicals. It contains Vitamin A (Retinol) which is an antioxidant, C and E which all help to improve the skin's elasticity. Silicones act as a protective barrier and also helps prep the skin for makeup application. I pat the eye cream beneath my eye and take the product up and around my eye socket. Any left over product on my fingers I work down the sides of my nose up until my mouth. This eye cream has helped to improve the appearance of the fine lines around my eyes and the under eye area looks smoother. This eye cream is R890 for 15ml. A tube lasts me over 2-3 months when using it every day in the morning, but when I forget to use it daily, it stretches much longer than that.

Dermalogica has launched an Age reversal eye complex eye cream which is available online and in stores as of today! This eye cream has advance microencapsulated Retinol. The technology optimises the potency of the Retinol and makes it easier for your skin to absorb. This leads to better results. This technology has also been extended to the Niacinamide and Ashe tree bark ingredients which help to maintain hydration and reduce dark circles under your eyes. The age reveral firming complex is made up of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 (strengthens collagen and firms tissue), Hyaluronic Acid (hydrates tissues and softens appearance of wrinkles), Dunaliella Salina Extract (stimulates epidermal cell renewal) and Provitamin B5 (stimulates cell regeneration). A 15ml tube will retail for R990 at Dermalogica stores as well as on their online store. I've been using this eye cream for a few weeks now and really have found that it has helped keep my eye area looking good. My dehydration lines have started to be less visible and overall, my skin seems to look less dull. I use one little squeeze of the tube to cover both eye areas and there is enough to take it down my smile lines too. Whether this one is better than my Age Smart Multivitamin Power Firm eye cream is still a bit too soon to tell, but I do find myself reaching for this one each day.
At the time of writing this series, I had done my facial during the day, so the moisturiers I used has a good SPF in it.  The Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturiser has been a favourite of mine for AGES, especially in summer. It is light-weight, has a very high SPF and contains many great ingredients to help fight skin-ageing. I can see why this moisturiser is R1190. It is not just a moisturiser, it is a treatment product that also has excellent built in protection from the sun. One pump is enough to cover my face and neck area so this tube lasts me a really long time. I tend to mostly use this when I know I am going to be outside in the sun a lot.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX
