Those of you who follow my blog probably know by now that skin care is my main focus when it comes to "beauty". I believe strongly that taking care of your skin means that you need far less makeup. So when I get the opportunity to try out new skincare products I get really excited.
A while back Simply Aloe sent me a bottle of Bitters Shampoo to test (read the post here) and I loved the results so much that I jumped at the chance to try out their Aloe and Honey Mask.
I really like the bottle that the mask comes in. The design is simplistic, eye catching and makes using the mask really easy. The mask is a gel-like consistency that at first does smell quite strong but is honestly not bad once you apply it to your face properly. At first it is quite alarming but you get so used to it that it doesn't bother me at all. I am quite sensitive to smells so when I say it isn't bad, it honestly isn't.
This mask is formulated for normal to dry skin. It contains Aloe Ferrox gel with emollients, natural oils, botanicals, vitamins and honey to help nourish and hydrate the skin. The mask is best applied to skin that has been cleansed and exfoliated, which ensures that the ingredients can be easily absorbed by your skin.
On days where I feel my skin is especially dry I will apply this to my skin while lying in the bath and leave it on for longer than the 10 - 15 minute recommended time. Sometimes my skin literally sucks this all up and I hardly have any product to remove - as strange as that sounds. What is even better about this mask is the price, R65 for 50ml. As someone who often looks at the prices of face masks I know that there are very few masks of this size and this quality for under R100.
For me, I find that this mask if good for treating my dehydrated / dry skin. So if you are looking for a mask that will help get moisture back into your skin and help your skin look more radiant, this is the one for you. I use this as a complimentary face care product to my skin care routine as I do have to use anti-ageing products as well. Overall, this product is really good at what it does and that is what matters most.
Simply Aloe has a full range of facial care products that are all reasonably priced. These products are available at pharmacies and Wellness Warehouse.
Big Hugs,
