• Another life update

So I said I would be posting more often and then just with my luck - I got sick and now poor little Scamp has a back problem and will possibly need surgery. I started crying as soon as the vet told me the diagnoses, Scamp has been part of my life since I was 17 years old and saw me through my twenties. Any thought of him being in pain and having to undergo surgery frightens me. The specialist is only able to see him next week Thursday (there is only one specialist in the whole of Cape Town which made me so upset).
Luckily with me being sick and on sick leave I am able to look after Scamp. I take my hat off to mothers who are sick and have to look after their sick children. It is tough but obviously worth it to make sure they are ok...yes I know Scamp is not a child but to me he is my little baby boy. On the "bright side" he has been a lot more comfortable today with minimal pain. He is a really tough little boy and endures a lot before he shows it, so I have been keeping an eye on him all the time and making sure he keeps still and is comfortable.

Anyway, this is just a quick update on what is going on and also to explain why posts might not be coming as fast as you'd expect. My number one priority now is making sure Scamp is happy and comfortable until we know what we can do to help him. I am holding thumbs that this rest will be enough and he won't need surgery. To those of you who have left such encouraging and kind comments on my Instagram post, thank you so much. It really helps keep my spirits up.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX

      1. I hope so too. I can see he is doing a little bit better today with the forced bed rest. It is so difficult keeping him still and I am not the type that wants to lock him in a cage if I can help it. It will make him distressed and I can't put him through that. So luckily I can be at home with him for the week. Just need to make a plan for next week until we get him to the specialist. I don't care too much about my own sickness now, just want him to get better.
