As mentioned yesterday, I asked a few bloggers to participate in a guest series on 5 beauty products they currently like. I really wanted to feature some fresh voices on my blog so this is their first time being featured on Gee Whiskers - please show them all some love by visiting their blogs and social media. First up is Leigh from FairLeigh - Leigh has such an infectious personality where you simply can't help but like her. Her blog is a beautiful reflection of who she is...click here to visit her blog! Here are Leigh't 5 Products:

    1. TOY Nail Polish in Unicorn Whisper
I always felt that a decent white nail polish was a myth but it turns out, unicorn’s DO exist! This white from TOY Nail Polish is 100% opaque. It’s so opaque you can almost get away with only one coat.
It’s not too thick and not too runny which makes it great for nail art. As with all TOY Nail Polish, you can look forward to excellent quality and long, chip free wear.

Available online at toystyle.co.za for R99.
TOY is 5 free, 3 free and cruelty free.

    2. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
This oil free gel is great for all skin types, not just dry skin. I’ve got combination skin, where my forehead could grease a pan and my nose looks like a dried up river bed. Ewe. No moisturiser has ever worked for my skin. By the end of the day I would be oily and my nose would still flake.

Thankfully, I discovered this gel through Bronwyn (mothercitymom.com). I bought it in December and it’s STILL not finished. A little bit goes a very, very long way. I was first hesitant to spend R500 on moisturizer (my budget is always limited) but so far it’s worked out cheaper than any moisturiser I’ve ever used because it’s lasted so long. Besides, great skin care products are an investment. It’s made my skin so soft! I can definitely see a smoother, dewier look to my skin. I love everything about it. It feels so luxurious and smooth when I apply it and there’s no excessive oil shine at the end of the day. I will be repurchasing this one for many years, probably for as long as it is available.

    3. Tresseme Oil Elixir
I honestly don’t know how I survived without this product. This is my fourth bottle and I’m sure there will be many more. It’s a life saver in winter. Frizzy hair? Nope, I don’t know what that is anymore. I apply two pumps from the middle to the ends of my hair after I have blow dried it. It instantly smooths without the added weight of most hair oils. After I straighten my hair, I apply a little more to stop and flyaways. One bottle lasts my other half and I about 6 months. He goes wild with it and just rubs it in his wet hair every night. He has thick, curly hair. The oil has made his hair shinier, smoother and softer. He also says his scalp isn’t as itchy anymore.

Available at Clicks, Dischem, Pick n Pay etc for R120

    4. Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
This is probably THE most famous eyeshadow palette in the world! It’s not famous for being famous – this brand has earned its stripes. If you ever want to invest in eyeshadow, this is the one to get. Amazing colour payoff, great staying power, easy to blend. The colour combo of the palette is incredibly versatile. You can easily go from a subtle office look to an intense evening look. This is my go to eyeshadow palette. No other has ever come close! The dual ended brush they include

in the sturdy metal packaging, is also incredible. One side is used to apply and blend while the thinner side is for precision application – you can wet the darker shades and use them as eyeliner.

The palette retails for $52 (R630) overseas. Beautybay.com ships to South Africa. I waited two months for mine to arrive and had to pay a R155 customs fee. The total cost is around R800 depending where you buy from. I suggest you order overseas and wait for it to arrive. It’s sad but most online shops in South Africa charge R1300 upwards, which is nearly double the price. That’s day light robbery in my opinion. Ebay has great customer protection. If your order has not arrived by a certain date, or goes missing, you will be refunded. Always stick to trusted sellers and you won't have any drama ordering off EBay.

I promise, this palette is worth the wait! Urban Decay is cruelty Free.

    5. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Glam Green Eyes Custom Eye-enhancing Mascara Duo
What a mouth full, but that’s the real name! I love this mascara because it’s really great and you get two colours - bonus. I use the black on my upper eyelashes and the brown for the bottom.
It’s a no fuss, no clump mascara. It doesn't flake off during the day, and it doesn't give you raccoon eyes if you accidently rub your eyes too hard.

Available from selected Dischem stores for R200. Physicians Formula is
    organic and cruelty free.

Thank you so very much Leigh for agreeing to be part of this series. The tip on Urban Decay is something I am personally grateful for, I was SO tempted to just bite the bullet and fork out over R1300 for the palette...think I will take your advice and order from overseas.

Don't forget to show Leigh some love by visiting her blog. You can also follow her on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
