• 5 Things: I have recently learnt about myself

Yesterday Claire from Howse Life did a post on 5 things she recently learned about herself and I thought it would be fun to do a post as well.  So here it goes...

    1. I have always been a person who loves to decorate my space. But creating a home with someone is so very fulfilling.  I have very specific ways of how I like to do things and thought I couldn't be the type to compromise on things - but I am learning to and what surprised me is that it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
    2. When I am not studying I feel as if I am not accomplishing anything.  Since I graduated from university I have continuously studied by adding additional majors to my degree and doing my Honours.  Last year after I graduated I decided to dedicate more time to my career in ways that expose me more within the industry.  I have done so by creating a case study for the UCT second year Information Systems course and also was accepted as a speaker at the BASSA conference in September - but I don't feel that is enough.  I have been studying for over 10 years so it is just so strange for me not to be studying towards something.  Not sure if I am the only person that feels this way about studying.
    3. I love foundation - I used to hate foundation, all the ones I tried were thick and were very noticeable on my skin. I have found a few foundations that look natural and feel so amazing on my skin. It really changed the way I do my makeup.
    4. I really love exploring places in and around Cape Town but I am itching to travel.  I have always wanted to go overseas at least once but I am really yearning to see more.  My priorities have always been to save and spend money on making my daily life more comfortable, however I do feel that one misses out somewhat by not travelling.
    5. I am very happy with who I am. I don't know if it is just because of my age, but recently I have become so much more happier with who I am, where I am in my life and all that I have around me.  I will always try to be the best I can be but it was such a calming effect on my life when I realised I am happy with who I am and all that I have in life.
So there you go, the 5 things I have learnt recently.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XX

PS. For those of you who do not know, Claire recently got engaged! Such exciting times lie ahead for her and Malcom. Wishing you all the best with your wedding planning Claire. XXX

    1. What a lovely post!!! I really do enjoy when a blogger I love shares a few personal things. It always gives me a different insight to them which I enjoy.

Re the studying - you are on your own lol!! I did my degree and was so glad when it was over. Years and years of studying kills me. However I have found joy in short courses. Lots of info packed into a short space of time. I thrive on that

      1. We definitely are going to travel overseas for the honeymoon...but there are so many places we want to see, so that is proving to be the biggest challenge - deciding on a place :P

    4. Loved this post and posts like these. So fun to get to know a bit more about you. Especially something that perhaps isn't obvious.
I am also super keen to travel. In fact my husband and I want to go to the US to have new years in times square. I know everyone says there are better places to go than the US but that is where we would love to go.

I completely relate with your point no 5. I feel exactly the same. Of course there are moments of doubt and question but those are fleeting and usually about something of little importance. A great place to be if you ask me!
