• My Little Gems: Optiphi Smooth Radiance Exfoliator

This little Optiphi Smooth Radiance Exfoliator gem I received in my goodie bag at the Cape Town Blogger meet.  It is a light skin peel that is safe to use at home.  I don't know about you, but skin peels intimidate me because I do not know if I am going to end up with a red, inflammed looking face.  I was assured by the lovely Optphi lady that this is gentle enough to use twice a week and won't leave me with a red face.
For those of you who do not know, a skin peel is a process of using active chemical exfoliant to remove the top dead layer of skin cells from the area to which you apply the product.  It gives you smoother skin that looks more toned and refined.  It also helps to lessen the appearance of light skin pigmentation from sun damage and scaring.  It won't completely remove them but it definitely gives me a noticeable improvement across my noise and cheeks where I develop light spots from being in the sun.

The little bottle contains 5ml of the product which is said to be enough for 2 full treatments.  As with my other samples / mini products I have been able to squeeze out more treatments from this bottle because I focus on my face and not my neck area with this product.  I am already on my 4th treatment with possibly 1 or 2 treatments left in the bottle.  I use one of my other exfoliators for my neck and chest area because this stuff works wonders on my face, so I don't want to waste it on other areas.  If you do use a product like this all the time, it is however suggested that you apply it to your face, neck and chest area to ensure you get the best results from it.

Directions:  Apply to a freshly cleansed face, neck and chest area ensuring that you avoid the delicate eye area.  Leave on for 5 minutes then rinse well with luke warm water.  I like using a little facial sponge to ensure I get nice smooth looking skin as it lifts up more dead skin cells.  Thereafter apply a good face mask followed by your usual moisturiser.

Let me know if you've been trying any skin peels and what your thoughts are.

    Big Hugs,
    Charlene XXX

    1. I've always wanted to use a skin peel but I am also intimidated. I'm glad this is safe to use at home :) Do you know if it helps reduce the appearance of acne scarring?

      1. The lady I spoke to said that her clients battling with scars usually go to a salon for a proper peel then use these to supplement the treatment. It is suppose to help with the appearance of scars so I am sure it will help lessen the appearance. However, I am not certain if it will remove the scars entirely.

    2. This is something I need to try!

    3. First, you cannot get rid of fat in day or a week. It requires continual effort of at least a month How To Get Rid Of Cellulitemore depending on how bad your issue is. So, you need to create a commitment to decrease the issue much before your planned summer months vacation.
