I
arrived early Saturday morning to the beautiful Tranquil Body Treat store in the
Welgelee Plein mall situated in Wellington.
Since I last visited the store I noticed the addition of a treatment room
that is perfect if you want to experience the products first hand. I had a look at the treatment prices and they
are well below the industry norm, so it is definitely worthwhile if you are in
the area.
After
doing some quick shopping of my own to stock up on my favourite bath sherbets
and fizz bombs, I was taken to the back of the store where the products are
made. First off I was taken through the
process of making the famous Body Mousse that is Leigh’s creation. I know other brands have come out with their
own version but this started at Tranquil Body Treats. I personally love the body mousse because it is
so light and isn’t as heavy as traditional body butters.Thereafter I was taken through the process of how the body scrubs are made. These body scrubs are my favourite because they are made of refined salt instead of sugar. I find my skin feels and looks a lot smoother and softer with the smaller salt particles. It also feels a lot more gentle on my skin. I was lucky enough to make my own batch of the scrub – Grapefruit and Fennel. It was so much fun (although I was rather nervous) but once I got into it I was so pleased with myself. It was such a rewarding feeling seeing my batch head out straight to the store. I hope everyone who used it loved it!
I
then got to watch how soap is made. It is
such an exciting process watching how all the ingredients come together to form
such a wonderful product. I use the
natural soap bars, my favourite being the chocolate version. Once you try natural soap bars you will never
go back to the traditional store bars.
The natural soaps do not strip your skin at all.
Lastly
I made fizz bombs because Leigh knows how much I love using them. It was a little scary because I was told what
to do and left alone to do it. But it
was such a fun and therapeutic process.
I completely zoned out while making them and enjoyed the
relaxation. It is hard work making these
products but when you’ve made something and you stand back to view it…it is
just so fulfilling. I can see why Leigh
loves doing this.
I
truly love everything about the Tranquil Body Treats brand - the fact that every
product is handmade in small batches, the attention that each item gets, the
love and time that goes into making the products – it was such a privilege to watch
Leigh at work and hear how the brand started.
She truly loves her job and her brand.
I have such a huge amount of admiration and respect for Leigh for her
constant drive to provide her customers with the best possible products at
affordable prices.
A
huge thank you to the Tranquil Body Treats team – I had such a wonderful day at
the store.
Big
Hugs,
Charlene

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Do they have some kind of skin tightening mineral soak like the one found on that site? I have been looking into tightening my loose/sagging skin, but I want to do it in a more natural way....
