• Wishing Wednesday

Recently I have been considering changing from my current skin care routine to something that is more targeted to anti-aging.  There are so many different products on the market and it has turned into quite an overwhelming task.  My hunt has mostly cut out a lot of the options because there is just no way that I will happily be spending over R400 on one face cream and then still have to buy cleansers, exfoliators and such.  I then came across Skinscience on the shelves in Clicks.
    Image adapted from this source.
This line of skin care using stemcells from apples (called PhytoCellTec Malus Domestica to repair and revitalise the skin.  You can read how it works on the Skinscience website, but here is a before and after picture:
I tested out the serum and day cream on the back of my hand and they both felt and smelt incredible.  Now what I really love about Skinscience is that there is nothing complicated about what range you should be using as there are only 6 products that are suitable for all skin types.  Skinscience is all about Repairing, Preventing and Delaying ageing - plain and simple!  What is even more remarkable is that you can pick up the day and night cream for under R300 - priced at R129 each for 50ml.

I don't believe in wasting products so I have a few tubs of face creams to work my way through until I'll purchase the Skinscience products.  Until then I'll be wishing for all these amazing products!

Skinscience is available in Clicks and Dischem stores.
Visit the Skinscience website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

      1. I was quite surprised yesterday - went to Clicks and asked to see where all the products are kept and they had literally 2 things on the shelf. The lady said they don't really keep stock of the line anymore - I wonder if this means that they aren't doing well here? If so, it means I have to hunt for something else that is affordable and gives such results :(

    3. Oh no that sucks. Are they not available at Dischem? Innoxa also seems to be taking a dip on the shelves at clicks.

      1. I had a look at dischem and they only had a few bottles on the shelves and all the clicks stores I have been to around Cape Town hardly have any products on the shelves - some of the boxes had a serious layer of dust on them so they obviously don't sell well at all.

    4. lol to tell you the truth i have been using this range on my face for a year now and i really havent noticed a difference as i have a few fine lines under my eye and they havent faded or disappeared now i just use it as i dont want to waste it plus buying a ageing cleanser is not useful as i is meerly on your face for seconds and gets washed off so quickly so doesnt get time to benefit or work into the skin. its just best to spend more money on a really expensive moisturizer instead for anti ageing

      1. I spoke to a few people that use it and they swear it works for them. I think I might give it a try, because I am so curious and seeing as it's not really readily available in stores I know it's not really something I'll use permanently.

I've heard so many good things about Dermalogica...but the price of the products is rather alarming. My one friend says her bottle last her a good 3 months so I suppose the cost over time isn't terribly bad.

Just a question - why did you continue to use Skinscience for a year if it didn't work for you? Just curious :) I know I just stick with things because I have a loyal personality.

    5. I bought some on special at Clicks for R80...less than half price!! I bought the cleanser you leave on overnight for the hubby. He hasn't tried it yet though.

      1. I've actually gone and bought the entire range because they were all on sale - I really think these products are going to be pulled from the shelves soon because they can't be easily found in Clicks or Dischem. I've only been using if for 3 days now - but I do love the overnight exfoliator a lot.
