Eyes of the Day

Here is an easy, subtle day time look that is quick and easy.  

Products:

1. Bobbi Brown Tortoise Shell Eye Palette in Bronze - R650.  I wrote a post about a few months ago.  The top part of the palette contains lighter eyeshadows which are called Banana; Gold Nugget; Olive and Bronze.

How to achieve the simple look:

1. Prepare your eyelid with either an eyeshadow primer or normal face powder.  I prefer using a face base powder.
2. Use a light beige colour to cover the entire eyelid.
3. I used the Olive colour to line the tops of my eyelids from the outer to inner eye.  I do a fine line of eyeshadow which I smudge a little to soften it.
4. Then take the bronze colour and apply to the rest of your lids stopping at the edge of the crease of your eyelid.
5. Smudge the gold in the crease of your eye and fade up to the your top brow bone.  You can also use a little of the gold under your bottom eyelid if you wish.
6. Finish the top lids off with a fine line of brown eyeliner right against the lash line.
7. I don't usually line the bottom of my lids with eyeliner but if you add a light line it does enhance the look (which you can see in the bottom image).

Tips:

1. Because this look is very light and neutral, you can pair it with a dark lip colour or brighter cheeks.  All depends on what you want to accentuate.
2. I wear a light shade of pinkish brown lipstick because I prefer a more natural look.  My favourite is Benefit's Silky Finish lipstick in Make Nice  - which sadly is no longer available in South African stores.
